Appeal to trace Weimaraner dogs after terrier killed
Police want to trace the owner of two Weimaraner dogs that killed a terrier in Loughborough.
The terrier was attacked while being walked by a woman in fields near Pear Tree Lane and Hathern Drive on 23 January.
It died from its injuries on Thursday, said police.
The owner of the Weimaraners, which were not on leads, spoke to the woman after the attack at 0930 GMT, but did not leave his details.
The man is described as white, aged about 35 to 40, of medium build and is about 5ft 10in (1.8m) tall.
He had short, almost shaved hair and a long face. He was wearing a light-coloured shirt, a light coat and jeans.
Pc Stephen Gilkes, who is investigating the attack, said: "The owner of the terrier dog has been left devastated by the incident and we are keen to speak to the man or anyone who knows who the dogs may belong to."
