Leicester car body find probed by watchdog

The death of a man found in a car in Leicester days after he was reported missing is being investigated by the police watchdog.

Martin Kent, 24, from the Newfoundpool area, was found dead in the vehicle a ditch in Soar Valley Way on Thursday.

Police said his blue MG Rover had been last seen on Sunday night and Mr Kent was reported missing on Monday.

Officers said part of the case had been voluntarily referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Det Sgt Mark Watling said: "We need to find out when the incident happened and I am appealing for anyone who thinks they may have seen the car after Sunday evening to get in touch.

"If you saw the incident happen I would urge you to come forward and speak to us."
