Two charged over Leicester chip shop death


Two people have been charged in connection with the death of a man outside a chip shop in Leicester.

A 27-year-old Leicester man has been charged with murder and a 35-year-old woman has been charged with assisting an offender.

Mr Jagjit Singh, 43, was found injured in Saffron Lane on 1 November and died in hospital a short time later.

The man and woman are both due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Mr Singh died from a suspected stab wound, police said.
