The former managing director of a Leicestershire car dealership has been jailed for two years for sexually assaulting women he employed.

Charles Archer, 48, of Anglia Drive, Church Gresley, was convicted of 11 counts of sexually and indecently assaulting four female staff members.

Archer ran the Archers of Ashby Ford garage in Ashby de la Zouch.

He was convicted of the offences, which took place over 20 years, after a trial at Leicester Crown Court in August.

During the trial, the jury heard the father-of-two, who has no previous convictions, assaulted one girl after she had worked for him for just three days.

Sentencing, Judge Simon Hammond said Archer had abused his "position of power and exploited attractive, young women who were keen to gain employment".

Archer will have to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.
