Play area in Eyres Monsell to reopen after refit
A play area for children in Leicester is to reopen after a £60,000 facelift.
Exchange Park in Eyres Monsell has been fitted with tunnels, a climbing frame and slide, a sandpit, a four-person seesaw and a pendulum net.
It was designed by city council play and youth development officers and paid for by the Big Lottery Fund.
Officials said it was intended for two to eight-year-olds and complements an existing playground for older children at Exchange Park.
Anna Barradell, play co-ordinator at the council, said: "We talked to local children and families about what they wanted at the park. One of the things that children and parents said they would like to see was sand.
"So we have included a sandpit with a digger in the final design of the playground."
