Shop staff fined for selling alcohol to children

Five shop staff in the Hinckley and Bosworth district of Leicestershire have received £80 fixed penalty fines for selling alcohol to children.

Nine shops were each visited four times in the intelligence-led operation between June and September.

Children were able to buy alcohol from staff at five of the businesses.

Police and Trading Standards said they were disappointed with the shops concerned and would be repeating the exercise in future.
