Man, 84, injured in Leicester house robbery

A robbery in which an 84-year-old Leicester man was injured in his own home has been described as "appalling" by police.

The householder was disturbed by three white men wearing dark hooded tops overnight between 23 and 24 August at the property on Hampshire Road.

A quantity of cash was taken and the man received minor injuries to his arm.

Pc Andrew Follows said: "This was an appalling crime against a vulnerable man in his own home."

An appeal for information has been made.
