Youth charged with three Leicester 'car key' burglaries

A teenager has been charged with breaking into three Leicestershire homes and stealing car keys before making off with the vehicles.

A BMW X5, BMW Series 1, a BMW Mini and a Range Rover were taken in Markfield, Broughton Astley and Ullesthorpe over the weekend of 10 and 11 July.

A 17-year-old from Braunstone is accused of three counts of burglary.

He is also charged with aggravated taking of a vehicle without the owner's consent, and dangerous driving.

The boy is to appear at Leicester Youth Court later.

An 18-year-old from Leicester who was also arrested on suspicion of involvement in the burglaries has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
