Leeds death crash inquests open

Inquests into the deaths of five people who died in a car crash in Leeds have been opened and adjourned.

Ellis and Elliott Thornton-Kimmitt, aged 12 and 14 respectively, died along with Darnell Harte, 15, when the Renault Clio they were in hit a tree on 25 November.

Father-of-two Anthoney Armour, 24, and Robbie Meerun 24, were also killed.

Det Insp Andrew Naismith told Wakefield Coroner's Court the victims suffered multiple injuries.

West Yorkshire Police previously said the car was stolen in the Headingley area about three hours before the crash on Stonegate Road in Meanwood.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with five counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
