An almost complete skeleton has been found at the side of a motorway in Leeds by police investigating the discovery of a human bone.

The bone was found near junction 45 of the M1, in a wooded area near Temple Newsam, on 27 March.

Forensic investigations at the scene led to more bones being uncovered, as reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

West Yorkshire Police said tests on the bones confirmed they belonged to a male and it was an almost complete skeleton.

A police spokesman said: "Work is ongoing to identify the man and to establish the circumstances surrounding his death."
