Police watchdog make Halifax crash witness appeal

The police watchdog has appealed for witnesses to a fatal crash involving a car apparently being pursued by an unmarked police vehicle.

Antony Rogivska, 29, from Bradford, died when his car hit a house before being struck by a bus on 14 December.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission said it understood an unmarked police vehicle had attempted to stop Mr Rogivska prior to the crash.

The smash happened at the junction of Cooper Lane and Carr House Road.

A post mortem examination found Mr Rogivska died as a result of chest injuries.

IPCC Commissioner Derrick Campbell said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Rogivska's family at this difficult time.

"The IPCC investigation is already making good progress with evidence now being gathered to give us a clear picture of the circumstances that led to his death.

"I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward as soon as possible."
