A man has suffered head injuries after an advertising hoarding collapsed and struck him in Leeds.

The 33 year old was near Bilal mosque on Harehills Lane, Harehills at about 09:40 GMT when the wood-framed sign fell, police said.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The road was closed by police, with officers directing traffic away from the scene.
