Eighth man charged over Harehills fatal shooting

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Shuel Ali Hussain who was shot while sitting in his car.

Rahim Gatewood, 20, of Spencer Place, Chapeltown, Leeds was remanded in custody by magistrates to appear at Leeds Crown Court at a later date.

Mr Hussain, 33, of Harehills, Leeds, who died from a wound to his stomach, was shot in Pasture Road on 9 March.

Mr Gatewood was charged with murder and conspiracy to pervert course of justice, said West Yorkshire Police.

Mr Hussain made his way to a supermarket on nearby Markham Avenue after the shooting but died later in hospital.

Five men, aged 19 to 42, and two boys, aged 16 and 17, have previously been charged as part of the investigation.
