Bramley man arrested over Kirkstall sex attack

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder and attempted rape of a 23-year-old woman in Leeds.

The woman was dragged into bushes on Redcote Lane, Kirkstall, where she was assaulted before she fought her attacker off.

The incident took place at about 17:50 BST on Monday near to a metal bridge which runs over the River Aire.

West Yorkshire Police said a 30-year-old man from Bramley has been arrested in connection with the attack.
