Man arrested after pedestrian hit by car and killed

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after a pedestrian died when he was hit by a car in West Yorkshire.

The 63-year-old was struck by a green VW Polo on Albert Street, at the junction with St George's Square.

A man has been bailed on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, after the incident in Hebden Bridge at 19:30 BST on Thursday.

Sgt Ann Drury said: "Prior to striking the pedestrian the car collided with two other vehicles."
