Huddersfield murder inquiry after woman killed and children hurt
A woman has been found fatally stabbed and four children injured at a house in West Yorkshire.
One of the children, a nine-year-old boy, was found with a stab wound and the other three have minor injuries.
A 39-year-old man is being treated in hospital and officers will speak to him later following the discovery in Reinwood Road at Lindley, Huddersfield.
Police said a second nine-year-old boy, an 11-year-old boy and a six-month-old baby girl were injured.
The 37-year-old woman was found at the house with "a serious stab injury" but died in hospital, West Yorkshire Police said.
The arrested man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries, a spokesman for the force added.
Det Ch Insp Ady Taylor said: "We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and neighbourhood policing team officers are patrolling the area, offering support and reassurance to local residents."
Neighbour Marcel Adams said: "Everybody's shocked this morning, we knew the family very well.
"We all grew up in this area, it's just a shock to know that this has happened in the area.
"I knew her [the victim] very well, we grew up together as kids and went to the same school.
"She was a nice, polite young lady, my kids knew her kids, it's a terrible shock."
