Sidney Cox death: Second man in court charged with murder

A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 57-year-old man who died after being attacked in his home.

Sidney Cox was attacked in Middleton Lane, Thorpe, West Yorkshire, on 24 August and died the following day.

John Edwards Nicholson, 24, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody at Leeds Magistrates' Court.

He will appear at Leeds Crown Court next week.

Mr Nicholson has also been charged with assault, possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.

Last week, Michael Valance Dear, 39, of Norton Common Road, Askern, Doncaster, was remanded in custody at Leeds Magistrates' Court charged with Mr Cox's murder.
