A man has appeared at Leeds Crown Court accused of murder.
Sidney Cox, 57, sustained multiple injuries in an attack at his home in Middleton Lane in the West Yorkshire village of Thorpe on 24 August. He died the next day.
Michael Valance Dear, 39, of Norton Common Road, Askern, Doncaster, was remanded in custody until his trial, which is set for March of next year.
No application for bail was made during his appearance.
