A Marks and Spencer store in Leeds has been badly damaged by fire.

Emergency services were called at about 05:10 BST after the fire was reported in the food hall of the store at the Owlcoates Centre in Pudsey.

No-one was injured in the blaze, Marks and Spencer said.

The store's ground floor was left smoke logged, while the lower ground floor was damaged by water from the sprinkler system, West Yorkshire Fire Service said.

It is too early to say when the shop will re-open, a spokeswoman for Marks and Spencer said.
