Code to chart bus arrival times in Leeds

Travellers in Leeds will be able to use their smart phones to find out when the next bus is due.

They will be able to scan a QR code - two-dimensional square barcodes - at the stop which takes them to a link giving the next bus's arrival time.

The system is going on trial at 45 stops between the city centre and Adel.

Metro is also introducing QR codes in the notices it puts on bus stops affected by special events and road closures.

Passengers will be able to use them to link to information about how bus services are affected by the closure on the Metro website.

If the trial proves successful, the codes will be progressively added to all stops with a bus timetable in West Yorkshire.
