Steel bands barred from Leeds Carnival floats

Help

Steel bands have been banned from floats at the Leeds carnival by event organisers, and will only be allowed on the stage.

The decision was prompted by an arson attack on the carnival headquarters and the recent disorder in West Yorkshire.

Chairman, Arthur France, said they were "being cautious".

The carnival takes place on 29 August.
