Man charged over taxi driver stabbing in Leeds remanded

A man charged with the attempted murder of a taxi driver who was stabbed in the neck in Leeds has been remanded in custody.

Paul Wadkin, 28, of Belle Isle, Leeds, appeared before magistrates on Saturday.

The driver, 22, was stabbed in the city at about 1900 GMT on 5 January.

He suffered a punctured lung and severed trachea and was left critically ill but his condition is now improving.
