Woman, 62, hit by car in Leeds, dies in hospital

A 62-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Leeds.

The woman was hit by a Peugeot 106 on Burley Road near its junction with Stanmore Grove on Friday evening.

West Yorkshire Police said the woman was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary after the incident, where she later died.

The force is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 2015 GMT on Friday. The car was travelling towards the Kirkstall area.
