The incident is being treated as unexplained.
Police have appealed for information. They said Mr Lee was last seen at Asda in Dewsbury around 2130 BST on Tuesday.
Det Insp Dave Boldison said there were no sightings of him after this time.
Police are interested to hear from anyone who saw Mr Lee either at the station or in the hours leading up to the incident.
Det Insp Boldison added: "It's crucial that anyone who saw Mr Lee comes forward because it will help us build a picture of his whereabouts between leaving the Asda store and heading towards Ravensthorpe rail station."
