Shotguns and ammunition stolen from Great Harwood house

Guns and ammunition have been stolen from a house in Lancashire in what police say was a "targeted" burglary.

The theft is thought to have happened between 06:00 and 18:00 GMT on Thursday at an address in the Windsor Road area of Great Harwood.

The owner returned home to discover a cabinet - containing four shotguns and ammunition - was missing.

Police said the thieves had gained entry to the house by cutting through a back door.

The stolen items are a Beretta 12 bore self-loading shotgun, an Armi Renato 12 bore single shotgun, an Escort 12 bore self-loading shotgun and a Breda 12 bore self-loading shotgun along with some assorted cartridges.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them.
