Blackpool scooter death: Daniel Faber's family pays tribute to 'soft bear'
A scooter rider who died in a crash with a car that was performing a U-turn was a "big laugh and a soft bear", his family have said.
Daniel Faber, from Blackpool, was hit by a Mercedes A-Class in Central Drive at 19:15 GMT on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old was expecting a baby with fiancée Natalie and was "adored" by his stepchildren, his family said.
A 27-year-old man riding alongside Mr Faber has been held in connection with the incident, Lancashire Police said.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
The driver of the car has not been arrested and is helping police with their inquiries.
A statement from Mr Faber's family said he was "a lovely family man" who "always wanted a cuddle off his Nana".
"He was a big laugh and a soft bear. He was a joker who loved life. He was always happy and friendly.
"He leaves behind his Nana and Grandad, Myrna and Roger, and was an expectant father with fiancée Natalie, as well as stepfather to Rihanna and TJ, both of whom adored him."
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
