Darwen stabbing: Three further arrests in murder probe

Police investigating the suspected murder of a man who was stabbed in Darwen have made three further arrests.

The 42-year-old was found dead with stab wounds in a property on Hazel Avenue at about 16:15 on Thursday.

A woman, 42, was taken to hospital after also being stabbed but has since been discharged, police said.

Two men, aged 18 and 33, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in Liverpool on Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of arrests to six.

The 18-year-old was held on suspicion of murder and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, while the others were being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

A 23-year-old man and two boys, aged 15 and 16, who were arrested on suspicion of murder earlier at nearby Frances Street, have been released without charge, Lancashire Police said.
