Carnforth woman, 89, dies after Bolton-le-Sands car crash

An 89-year-old woman has died following a car crash in Lancashire.

The woman, from Carnforth, suffered multiple injuries when her Toyota collided with a Seat car travelling in the opposite direction on Slyne Road, near Bolton-le-Sands, on Monday.

She was airlifted from the scene to Royal Preston Hospital but later died, police said.

The other driver, a 79-year-old woman from Lancaster, was treated for bruising, shock and whiplash.

Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
