Lancashire PC and former UK athlete faces voyeurism charge

A police officer and former UK middle distance athlete has been charged with voyeurism involving eight women.

PC Jayson Lobo, 46, of Blackburn, Lancashire, is accused of 17 offences of sexual spying allegedly committed between December 2011 and May 2015.

Mr Lobo, an 800m runner, represented England at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, and Great Britain at the 1999 Seville World Championships.

He is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday.

A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said all but one of the alleged offences are said to have been committed at an address in Blackburn.

Mr Lobo was arrested in December 2015 and reported for summons when he answered his bail on 17 May.

The offence of voyeurism is defined as watching people engaged in a private act without their consent for sexual gratification.
