Pedestrian who died after being hit by car named by police

A man who died after being hit by a car in Lancashire has been named by police.

Roy Leadbetter, 60, from Fleetwood, suffered head injuries after being knocked down in Garstang Road East, Poulton, at about 20:40 GMT on Friday.

A 56-year-old woman was also hit by the car in the same incident and suffered a cut to the head.

The family of Mr Leadbetter, who was a painter and decorator, said: "Roy was a much-loved husband and father who will be sadly missed."

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was uninjured and no arrests have been made.
