Jogger killed after falling into lorry's path in Bamber Bridge is named

A 31-year-old jogger who was killed after falling into the path of an oncoming lorry has been named.

Lancashire Police believe Jan Kroll, from Germany, fell into the road as he jogged on a grass verge on Wigan Road, Bamber Bridge, on Wednesday.

A spokesman said the man suffered fatal head injuries in the incident, close to Sandy Lane, at about 19:00 GMT.

Mr Kroll was in England on business working with a Preston-based company, police said.

Police launched an appeal for witnesses after the incident.
