Man, 69, dies two months after Clayton-le-Moors crash

An elderly man has died more than two months after he was hit by a car.

William Hart suffered head injuries when he was knocked down in Clayton-le-Moors, Lancashire, at about 22:15 BST on 21 June.

The accident happened in Whalley Road, close to the Albion pub, and involved a grey Ford Fiesta.

Mr Hart was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital but died on Wednesday, police said.

Sgt Lee Campbell, of Lancashire Constabulary, said: "I would appeal for anyone who witnessed this collision or who has any information, and who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us."
