A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman in Lancashire.

The body of Carole Dyson, 53, was found at a property on Harrison Road in Adlington, near Chorley, at about 17:00 BST on Tuesday.

Mark Dyson, 54, of the same address appeared before magistrates in Preston and was remanded to appear at the city's crown court on Friday.

Police said a post-mortem examination had established the cause of Mrs Dyson's death as asphyxiation.
