Three arrests in Burnley child grooming inquiry

A 16-year-old boy and two men have been arrested as part of an inquiry into child grooming in Lancashire.

They were detained in Burnley as part of the investigation into alleged abuse involving a 15-year-old girl.

The older men, aged 19 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to groom a child over the past few months, detectives said.

The 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Det Sgt Sheralyn Melton said the investigation was in its early stages and "tackling child sexual exploitation is one of the constabulary's top priorities".
