The former Remploy factory in Bolton, which closed in August after the government withdrew its funding, has re-opened.

Social enterprise Ability Tec has taken over the running of the factory.

Part of the takeover agreement is that the majority of the workforce will have a disability and be former Remploy employees.

Former manager Carl Lawton, who worked for Remploy for 18 years, has gone back to work at the factory manufacturing printed circuit boards.

He said: "A lot of people have rallied round to support us and they see there is a future there and an opportunity.

"They think we can make it work and I think we can make it work."
