Police investigating the fire deaths of four Lancashire siblings are following up a call of "particular interest" after a BBC Crimewatch appeal.

Reece Smith, 19, four-year-old twins Holly and Ella and two-year-old Jordan died in the fire at the house in Lytham Road, Freckleton, on 7 January.

The fire was started by a naked flame inside a wardrobe in the children's bedroom.

Det Supt Dermott Horrigan said: "We got one call of particular interest."

He added: "We were given information about one individual in particular, something relating to the fire and something that happened prior to the fire itself."

The children died from smoke inhalation as a result of the fire, which broke out in the converted bungalow at about 23:20 GMT on that Saturday.

Police believe the fire was started deliberately and are treating the deaths as murder.

Since the incident, police have spoken to hundreds of members of the local community.

Detectives have also been making appeals for information on Facebook and YouTube.

An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident remains on police bail.
