A reward of £10,000 is being offered for information leading to the conviction of a gang which carried out an armed robbery in Lancashire.

Three masked men raided Upholland Post Office on Hall Green as it was closing at about 17:30 GMT on 11 November.

During the incident a 61-year-old customer was shot in the back of the leg, police said.

A 38-year-old woman received head injuries. Both were taken to Wigan Infirmary and released after treatment.

The offenders left the scene with a small quantity of cash and ran down the alleyway at the side of the Post Office towards Hall Green.

Det Insp Paul Rudd said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the robbery to come forward and contact police.

"I am also keen to speak to people who may have seen people acting suspiciously prior to the incident or who perhaps saw three men dressed in dark clothing running away from the area.

"Fortunately the two people were not seriously hurt but that really is by luck.

"The fact that these people used a firearm and discharged it shows that they would stop at nothing to steal money from the Post Office."
