Cyclist killed in Manchester Wythenshawe lorry crash

A 26-year-old cyclist has died in a collision with a lorry in south Manchester.

The crash happened just after 09:30 GMT at the junction of Hollyhedge Road and Southmoor Road, Baguley.

Police said the cyclist was unconscious and trapped underneath the vehicle when emergency services arrived, but he died at the scene.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention.

He has been taken into police custody for questioning.

Sgt Adam Greenslade said: "A young man has tragically died this morning in Baguley and we are appealing for anyone who saw this incident to call us so we can establish the exact circumstances surrounding his death."
