Man dies in Lancashire M6-M65 interchange crash

A motorcyclist has died after his bike was involved in a collision with a car near the M6 and M65 interchange in Lancashire.

The 41-year-old man from Burnley was freed from the wreckage by emergency crews and taken to the Royal Preston Hospital on Tuesday where he died.

The M6 was closed in both directions at junction 29 and junction one of the M65 but has now reopened.

A police investigation into the cause of the crash is under way.

Sgt Lee Campbell said: "At this stage it is not entirely clear what has happened and so I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to come forward if they have any information that could help with our investigation."
