Lancashire Police appeal after St Annes cyclist death

A 61-year-old cyclist has died after being found injured in the street in Lancashire.

The man was found next to his bicycle in Cross Street, St Annes, at 14:30 GMT on Sunday.

He was given help by passers-by and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but later died.

Lancashire Police said the cause of the man's death was unknown and officers have asked any witnesses to contact them.

Sgt Malcolm Bell said: "I would appeal to anybody that saw this man cycling in the St Annes area, in particular anyone that saw him fall from his bike or witnessed any form of collision to come forward."

"We are at the early stages of the investigation and we are trying to establish the circumstances of exactly what has happened," he said.
