Man in court over aunt and grandmother's deaths in Preston

A man has appeared in court charged with the murders of his aunt and grandmother who were found stabbed to death in Lancashire.

Maureen Allen, 79, and her daughter, Geraldine Allen, 57, were found in a burning bungalow in Fulwood on Monday.

Lee Browne, 21, of Fulwood, appeared at Preston Crown Court for a preliminary hearing earlier.

He was remanded in custody until a hearing on 21 October. A provisional trial date was set for 30 January.
