A security guard was tied up and locked in a toilet by two armed men in a raid on a Preston store.

Lancashire Police said two men armed with crowbars escaped with a large quantity of cash through the roof of Marks and Spencers in Fishergate.

The men forced the security guard to escort them to the tills which they forced open with the crowbars.

They then tied up the guard, who was not inured during incident, which happened at about 2230 GMT on Friday.

Det Insp Gareth Willis said despite not being physically harmed, the guard was left shaken by his ordeal.
