Eight more appear in court in Preston drugs raids

Eight more people appeared in court on Friday charged with drug offences following a second series of raids by Lancashire Police.

A second day of raids in Preston on Thursday resulted in ten arrests in connection with class A drugs.

Seven men and a woman appeared at Preston Magistrates Court.

A man aged 37 is still being questioned while a 44-year-old man who was arrested has been admitted to hospital under the Mental Health Act.

A 30-year-old male of Arnhem Road was committed to Preston Crown Court on 21 January 2010, a man, 23, of Scotforth Road, has been remanded to appear in court on 17 December and a 23-year-old of Farringdon Place, pleaded guilty and has been given conditional bail.

A man, 41, of HMP Preston has to appear in court on 12 January with a second man of HMP Preston aged 47 remanded until 25 January.

A 30-year-old woman from Derby Square has also been remanded until 25 January.

A 17-year-old youth pleaded guilty and is bailed to appeal before the court on 27 November.

Nine people have already appeared in court accused of being involved in the supply of drugs from raids conducted on Tuesday.

Warrants were executed on a total of 12 addresses in the operation, resulting in 20 arrests.
