Another seven charged in Preston drugs raids


A further seven people have been charged with drugs offences in connection with an on-going operation in Lancashire.

Six men and a woman were arrested on a second day of raids in Preston on Thursday and are appearing before Preston Magistrates Court on Friday.

Two more men arrested overnight, aged 37 and 41, are still being questioned.

Another man arrested, who is 44, has been admitted to hospital under the Mental Health Act.

Those appearing in court on Friday are a 30-year-old male of Arnhem Road, a man, 23, of Scotforth Road, a 23-year-old of Farringdon Place, two men aged 41 and 47 of HMP Preston, a 30-year-old woman from Derby Square as well as a 17-year-old.

Nine people have already appeared in court accused of being involved in the supply of class A drugs from raids conducted on Tuesday.

Warrants were executed on a total of 12 addresses in the operation, resulting in 20 arrests.
