Witnesses sought for 'vicious attack' in Accrington

A man who was attacked at a bar in Accrington is being treated for "life changing facial injuries", police say.

The victim, a 22-year-old man from Clitheroe, got into an argument with two men at the Attic Bar on Warner Street at 0200 BST on Saturday.

He was then struck in the face by a glass. He needed emergency surgery to his right eye.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The men, aged 20 and 22, and both from Accrington, have been bailed pending further inquires.

Det Con John Banks, of Lancashire police, said it was "a vicious attack" and urged anyone who saw the altercation to come forward.
