Murder probe over decomposed body in Clayton-le-Moors

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the badly decomposed body of a man was found at a house in Lancashire.

Officers were called to Rutland Close in Clayton-le-Moors, near Accrington, at 1215 BST on Monday.

Police believe the body could have been there for some considerable time, a spokesman said.

A second man, 30, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both are from Blackburn.

The man has not yet been identified. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
