Scooter riders' appeal over Preston death crash

Police investigating the death of a father who died in a crash in Lancashire have appealed for three scooter drivers to come forward.

The man, 35, from Euxton, Lancashire, died when his Honda Civic collided with a Kia Sedona on the A59 at Much Hoole, Preston, on 11 July at 1540 BST.

His three-year-old daughter suffered a fractured collar bone.

The three scooters are seen on CCTV overtaking a double-decker bus, ending up behind the Honda and the Kia.

Police said the riders were travelling from Tarleton towards Preston along the A59 at about the time the crash took place at the junction of Liverpool Road and Liverpool Old Road near to San Marco's restaurant.

Sgt Alan Baron, of Lancashire police, said: "A full investigation into this collision is under way and I am very keen to speak with the three scooter drivers as they could have vital information that could help us piece together exactly what happened.

"I would also renew the appeal to anybody else who may have witnessed anything to come forward."
