A woman has been given a suspended jail sentence after pleading guilty to stealing more than £15,000 from the Kent football club where she worked.

Michelle Parker, 44, of Gatekeepers Chase, Rainham, admitted taking money from non-league Dover Athletic FC between October 2014 and October 2015.

She was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court to 20 months in jail, suspended for 18 months.

She must also undertake 300 hours of unpaid work.

Parker was arrested and charged with theft by employee after an internal audit revealed discrepancies in the accounts of the club in Crabble Avenue.
