A teenager is critically ill after falling from a moving car in a supermarket car park in Whitstable.

The 18-year-old, from Canterbury, fell from the car in the Sainsbury's car park in Reeves Way, Chestfield, in the early hours, police said.

He was taken to hospital in London with serious head injuries and is said to be in a critical but stable condition.

An 18-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Police urged anyone who witnessed the fall or saw the car, a black Peugeot 108, before or after the incident, to contact them.
