A scooter rider who suffered severe injuries in a crash on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent has died in hospital.

Alessandro Arcadipane, 26, from Minster, was airlifted to hospital after the collision in Brielle Way, Sheerness, on Wednesday.

Kent Police said the victim, known as Alex, died of his injuries on Friday.

His father Joe described him as a being "devoted to his daughters" Lucy and Ellie and said "nothing was too much trouble for him".

Mr Arcadipane said his son would be "missed by all who knew him".

Officers have asked anyone who witnessed the crash between the Yamaha YQ100 and Citroen C2 at about 10:10 GMT to contact the force.
